Does RSC follow Second Life Terms of Service?
Yes. Second Life has updated its Terms of Service and Age Play Policy regarding child avatars. RSC has carefully reviewed camp quests, story material, combat systems, and camp-related items with those rules in mind. RSC has never allowed age play at camp, will never allow it, and does not condone it. Child avatars may freely participate in appropriate camp roleplay, including fictional survival and combat gameplay, within Second Life Terms of Service.
What is Richmond Survival Camp?
Richmond Survival Camp is a themed Second Life camp experience with roleplay, events, story content, inworld gameplay systems, and a web profile connected to the camp HUD.
What is the 2026 theme?
The 2026 theme is The Last Carnival, a horror carnival story about Gravely's Carnival of Wonders, the Final Bell, and the things Richmond buried under the fairground.
How many campers will be allowed this year?
At the moment, RSC 2026 is planned for 150 campers. That number may change before the camp ticket lottery draw if additional regions become available.
How will camp registration work this year?
RSC 2026 registration will use a camp ticket lottery. Campers will enter for a chance to receive a spot, and the final camper list will be selected by a random draw. The system is built so staff does not see the names of ticket holders during the draw. We only see ticket numbers until after the draw is complete. The goal is to make registration as fair and transparent as possible, with no favoritism, no hand-picking, and no special treatment in the draw.
Registration day chaos was part of the fun. Will RSC make up for that?
Yes. We know the old first-come, first-served registration rush had its own strange thrill, especially the frantic teleport clicking. We have something fun planned so campers can relive the excitement of running over each other like shoppers on a Black Friday morning, just without registration spots depending on who clicked fastest.
Are there clowns at this year's camp?
No. We heard your comments and concerns about real-life clown phobias, so clowns have been removed from camp plans, including the story. We heard you.
Do I need the HUD?
Yes. The HUD connects your camper profile to the game systems. It tracks stats, XP, levels, tokens, inventory, crafting unlocks, and profile access.
Where is My Profile?
Use the My Profile link on the website or touch the Profile option on your inworld HUD. HUD profile links are secure and generated for the wearer.
How do levels work?
Campers earn XP from gathering, crafting, events, enemies, quests, and special loot. The current planned max level is 50, with crafting unlock tiers every 5 levels.
How does gathering work?
Gathering nodes are inworld objects you can click. If your backpack has room, the item is added to your inventory. Some nodes disappear briefly after being gathered while they reset.
How does crafting work?
Crafting uses materials gathered inworld. Recipes can require specific items and may be locked behind level unlocks. Craftable items will show their required ingredients and effects on your profile.
What are tokens?
Tokens are tracked on your profile and HUD, then exchanged for Token Prizes. Token Prizes are exclusive Second Life resident-created items made for camp.
Will we get our camp bunks to take home again this year?
Yes. As has become tradition, campers will receive a copy of the exclusive bunk made only for this year's camp to take home after camp. There will also be a special spooky edition available as a Token Prize.
Where do I find camp dates and events?
Use Important Dates for schedule information and Camp Events for the live camp activity board.
Is the horror content real or roleplay?
It is fictional roleplay inside Second Life. RSC may include spooky, unsettling, or carnival-horror themes, but players are expected to follow Second Life Terms of Service and respect other campers.
Can I participate if I am new to Second Life roleplay?
Yes. Read the story, wear the HUD, watch the event boards, and follow staff guidance inworld. You do not need to know every system on day one.

Contact RSC staff inworld. If it involves your HUD, profile, inventory, XP, or tokens, include what you were doing and the approximate time it happened.
