Camp Information

Richmond Survival Camp is a story-driven survival roleplay experience in Second Life.

Campers work together to explore, solve puzzles, survive challenges, attend events, complete quests, and take part in a shared seasonal story. RSC is not a traditional summer camp. It is a collaborative roleplay and adventure experience where imagination, teamwork, and community are at the center of camp.

For 2026, Richmond Survival Camp enters The Last Carnival, a mysterious carnival-horror story about a show that never ended, a final bell that was never rung, and the strange things waiting beneath the fairground.

All roleplay styles are welcome at RSC, from casual roleplayers to experienced paragraph roleplayers. Campers are not expected to roleplay in one specific way. Respect, patience, and having fun together are our highest priorities.

Respect Everyone

Treat all campers, counselors, and staff with kindness and respect.

Harassment, bullying, discrimination, insults, personal attacks, or targeted negative behavior will not be tolerated. Everyone has their own comfort level, communication style, and roleplay style. Do not criticize, pressure, or shame others for roleplaying differently than you.

If a roleplay scene or activity is not enjoyable for you, politely step away and join something else.

Roleplay Guidelines

RSC welcomes roleplayers of all experience levels.

Camp is a PG-rated environment. Please keep roleplay appropriate for a family-friendly camp setting, even when the theme includes spooky, survival, mystery, or combat elements.

Activities may be identified by staff as In Character or Out of Character. Unless otherwise announced, counselor-led games, event instructions, and staff directions should be treated as OOC.

The 2026 theme may include fictional horror, carnival mystery, monsters, survival gameplay, and spooky storytelling. Keep the story fun, respectful, and appropriate for camp.

Second Life Terms of Service

Richmond Survival Camp follows all applicable Second Life Terms of Service, Community Standards, and Linden Lab policies.

Because many participants use child avatars, RSC has carefully reviewed its quests, story content, items, combat systems, and camp activities with the current Second Life rules in mind.

Any sexual, romantic, suggestive, or ageplay-related content or behavior is strictly prohibited. This includes jokes, emotes, gestures, attachments, animations, clothing, objects, or roleplay that attempts to bypass or test those rules.

Clothing, animations, gestures, accessories, and roleplay must remain appropriate for a PG camp environment at all times.

Any conduct that violates Linden Lab policies may result in immediate removal from camp and may also be reported through Second Life's Abuse Report system.

Our goal is to provide a safe, welcoming, and TOS-compliant camp environment for everyone.

Behavior

Be respectful in local chat, group chat, Discord, and private messages related to camp.

Avoid unnecessary drama, public arguments, gossip, excessive negativity, or behavior that disrupts camp activities. Follow staff instructions promptly during events and gameplay.

Staff decisions are final during camp operations. If you have concerns, they may be discussed privately after the situation or event has been handled.

Repeated disruptive behavior may result in removal from the current event, loss of camp privileges, or removal from future Richmond Survival Camp activities.

Language

We understand that some campers may cuss now and then, especially while roleplaying a character. Occasional language is not the issue. However, please avoid making profanity excessive or disruptive.

Excessive profanity, offensive remarks, sexual jokes, discriminatory language, or inappropriate comments are not permitted. Keep public chat appropriate for a PG camp environment.

Voice Chat

Child avatars are not permitted to use voice chat at camp.

The only exception is when a staff member specifically requests voice in a private area to discuss an issue, concern, or situation that needs direct staff attention.

This helps keep camp appropriate, organized, accessible, and manageable for campers and counselors.

Weapons and Combat

Only camp-themed items and official Richmond Survival Camp weapons may be used during camp activities.

Only official RSC weapons and tools may interact with camp monsters, quests, scripted events, or combat systems. Do not use outside combat systems, weapons, pushers, traps, or scripted objects that interfere with camp gameplay or other campers.

Combat and survival gameplay are fictional and must remain appropriate for the camp setting.

Attachments, Effects, and Scripted Items

Dance systems, looping animations, excessive particle effects, loud gesture spam, or similar attachments should only be used in designated OOC or social areas.

If staff asks you to remove, disable, or change an attachment, please do so promptly.

To help keep local chat readable, talking diapers, tummy talkers, illness HUDs, AI chat systems, and similar scripted attachments must have local chat disabled while attending camp.

Excessive automated chat, spam, particles, sounds, or lag-heavy attachments are not permitted.

AI Mesh and Performance

Please avoid wearing or rezzing AI-generated mesh, poorly optimized mesh, or unusually lag-heavy items at camp.

AI mesh is often unoptimized and may contain excessive geometry that can create lag for other campers. Staff may ask that lag-heavy items, attachments, or props be removed, replaced, or adjusted to help keep camp accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

Tokens, Rewards, and Game Systems

Play fairly.

Do not exploit, duplicate, trade, sell, farm, manipulate, or abuse camp tokens, XP, inventory items, crafting materials, event rewards, or scripted systems unless a specific system officially allows it.

Camp rewards are intended to be earned through participation. Attempting to gain unfair advantages may result in loss of rewards, removal from events, or removal from camp.

Attendance and Event Courtesy

Campers should remain at camp while participating in scheduled activities whenever possible.

Please take care of shopping, inventory management, outfit changes, and other personal business before activities begin. If you need to step away, do so respectfully and avoid disrupting the event.

Arrive prepared, listen to staff instructions, and give counselors room to run their activities.

Questions and Concerns

If you have a concern, issue, or believe someone is breaking the rules, contact a counselor or member of camp staff privately.

Please do not argue publicly in local chat, group chat, or Discord. Staff will review concerns as fairly and respectfully as possible.
