Counselor Code of Conduct

Please review the following expectations before serving as a counselor at Richmond Survival Camp.

Counselors are expected to set a positive example for campers and help maintain a welcoming, respectful, and safe camp environment.

Professional Conduct

Be a Role Model

Counselors represent Richmond Survival Camp and are expected to conduct themselves with professionalism. Treat campers, fellow counselors, and staff with kindness and respect. Your actions, attitude, and communication should reflect the standards of the camp.

Respect Others

Harassment, bullying, discrimination, insults, personal attacks, or targeted negative behavior will not be tolerated. Counselors are expected to work together as a team and show respect to campers and staff at all times.

Avoid Drama

Disagreements should be handled privately and professionally. Do not gossip, escalate conflicts, or create unnecessary tension within the camp community. Concerns should be brought directly to Camp Administration.

Voice and Communication

Event Voice Channels

Do not join another counselor's event voice channel unless you are actively assisting or have been invited. Avoid interrupting or distracting from another counselor's event. The hosting counselor should be allowed to lead their activity.

Camper Conversations

When campers are present, public conversations should remain appropriate and focused on camp. Avoid discussing personal real-life topics around campers. Off-topic or private conversations should take place in your own Discord, private messages, or another appropriate space.

Appearance and Second Life Standards

Counselor Appearance

Counselors should maintain a clean, family-friendly appearance. Clothing, animations, attachments, and accessories must be appropriate for a PG camp environment. Camp Administration may request reasonable changes if something is considered unsuitable.

Second Life Standards

All counselors must follow the Second Life Terms of Service. Sexual, romantic, suggestive, or ageplay content is strictly prohibited. Counselors are expected to maintain appropriate boundaries with campers at all times.

Teamwork and Leadership

Support the Team

Respect each counselor's events, responsibilities, and time. Offer assistance when appropriate or when asked, and communicate with fellow staff in a professional manner.

Follow Administration Guidance

Counselors are expected to follow directions from Camp Administration. During camp operations, administrative decisions are final. If concerns arise, they may be discussed privately after the event or situation has been handled.

Performance and Optimization

Counselors should not use AI-generated mesh for events, decorations, props, attachments, or camp builds. AI mesh is often poorly optimized and can create unnecessary lag due to excessive geometry or inefficient construction. To help keep camp accessible and enjoyable for everyone, all event materials and camp-related objects should be reasonably optimized. Camp Administration may ask that lag-heavy items be removed, replaced, or adjusted.
